      Rated 4 out of 5 by spurs561 from Nice safe in General The lighting for both buttons, and inside safe could be a little brighter......Have a 5 year old safe like this one that lights much better......Does not read my fingerprints consistently, but to be fair my prints are even hard to get for background checks etc....Would like to see a faster reset than 2 minutes if a mistake is made in punching the code in..... But a very nice safe anyway, and it seems they made a better strut than the old ones had.....Had to replace the strut on the older one because original one failed.....Had to put a slightly shorter strut in, but it is stronger than original....Good to see this addressed..........

      Rated 4 out of 5 by wildil58 from Well-built Safe Overall; Biometric Inconsistent Very well-built gun safe. The lights and cushioned lid operation are great added features. But I rated it 4 out of 5 stars because the fingerprint biometric operation is inconsistent for me. This was one of the main features I wanted in a gun safe, but I wouldn't rely on it in an emergency situation. But in all fairness, I have tried other brands with this feature and they also fell short on the fingerprint biometrics. But at least with this safe, the digital code entry works without fail. And of course, the key is always an option as well. Other than that, it's a great safe and I feel that my firearms are protected from unapproved access.

      Rated 4 out of 5 by JohnBoy986 from Not to bad overall The safe is not bad overall. I have placed finger prints in the system and it will work at times and at times not. The safe would be much better if it was about 2 or 3 inches taller for sure and a lot less expensive. The holes in the bottom would be better if it had the 2 padding buttons to put into place if your not going to mount the system somewhere instead of just open holes. I had the single gun safe and upgraded to the 2 gun safe after returning the single one. Really didn't make a whole lot of difference overall. Still a tight fit with a small Glock and regular Glock with light on it due to work weapon.

The woman was very pleasant and said you would ship one for free, again thank you. I was so impressed that I ordered another safe model QAP1BLX. The new strut and safe arrived today. Only reason I gave 4 stars is that you don’t have a way to secure the safe in a vehicle under the seat. I have two cheaper stack on ones that have a small notch in the side and come with a cable to secure them to the seat frame. They are not biometric so would like to put one of these in my truck but I don’t see a decent way to “secure “ them.

      Rated 3 out of 5 by Strutless in NEO from Similar to QAP1BE, including the faulty gas strut I already own the the smaller brother QAP1BE and after they sent me a new gas truck I really love that one. I just ran out of room so I ordered the big brother which was "new and improved". It is almost comical that my first time opening it, I find the gas strut is defective just like it was on the old model lol. I'm sure they will take care of me like they did on the old unit, but it's still irritating that a brand new "new and improved" model is shipping out with a known defective strut. Attached is a photo of each unit after I open them. The new one opens slowly and only halfway, unless coaxed. If they hadn't shipped a bad strut, considering this was a known problem, it would be a 5 star unit based on my experience with the older model.

      Rated 1 out of 5 by Anonymous from Immediately melted when I put a batteries in The safe immediately melted when I placed the batteries in I read the directions and used four brand new AA batteries Duracell. I threw the receipt away because I thought I would never take it back and that sentry was a solid company I am truely disappointed. At this point I will not only never buy from sentry again but I will try to stop everyone from buying this hazardous product

      Rated 5 out of 5 by Navlife2 from Quality This safe is a must have and gives you the upper hand in any situation with its finger print/ code entry points. When seconds matter, so does Sentry! Easy programming for code and finger print scanner. Love the addition of the blue light inside which can be turned on and off at the touch of a button. Pre drilled holes for easy mounting with hardware included. Back up keys and the ability to save your code on the website should you forget. Love the groove on top for easy carry. The safe looks really cool and and gives you an added sense of confidence and security. I will definitely purchase another!
