Rated 5 out of 5 by Mongo from Safe review Received safe from Home Depot slightly damaged as if it had been dropped on the top right rear corner. Otherwise, it appears to be intact and functional. Operating instructions were accurate and easy to follow. Had to call customer service when I was unable to program a secondary code, but the problem was mine. Otherwise, very pleased with the safe, and the customer service.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Brannysue from Very good good safe for the money The size is great and will be exactly what we need for our documents. I AM a bit concerned about placing anything else in the safe (USB drives, computer stuff) due to possible moisture accumulation, but I will be trying this in a ziploc bag with a not-so-important drive. Just be aware that you will need to make sure moisture is not present in the safe every month, or so. I'm not sure we would've bought it had we known this could be an issue, but we are overall pleased with our purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by midwest traveler from Excellent value for the money!! This Fire Safe provides me with enough storage for our important papers and other items such as computer backup devices. We feel comfortable that these items are protected from loss by fire. The size is convenient and sits comfortably beside our office desk. placing the safe on a 6 inch wood base raised it to a level more comfortable for access and puts the top of the safe at about the same level as our desk. Its top became the location for our all-in-one printer.

The compartment on the inside door will hold a legal size document, such as an abstract. The two provided slide drawers are nice for misc. items. My only concern is whether the electronics will hold up over time. LED lights that illuminate the interior when the door is open is a nice touch as is the lighted keypad, especially if you prefer to have the safe in an out of the way place.

The actual useable dimension is less than the stated dimension. The stated dimension is 14.8 inches but the tracks on each side used for the shelf and the “tub” reduces the useable spaces. Disappointing since I had planned to store my laptop flat in the safe but now I can’t. Otherwise I like it.

Managed to open it twice by putting the safe on its back, stand on it and yank it sharply using my strongest son. totally useless, fine if you plan to load it up and never touch anything again. took it back the next day for a full refund. Please scan the reviews on the internet, mine was not the only door problem reported.

The electronic keypad is easy to read and the safe is heavy enough that I didn't feel the need to bolt it down. However, the one criticism I would level is the handle needs to be made of metal as well. It's a hard plastic, but that seems to be a weak point. Spend a few more dollars in steel and give us a real handle.
