Rated 3 out of 5 by MCOOPER from ONLY WATERPROOF IF BOLTED TO NON FLAMMABLE FLOOR For the price point the safe seems to be of good quality. I got it without knowing that the only way it could be water proof is if it were bolted to a concrete floor. The only place I can put my safe is in the basement, and if there were a fire hope the basement filled with less than 12" of water. If this were to be bolted to wood you run the risk of the wood burning off of the anchors which would then allow water, heat and gases to penetrate the inside as the anchors would then be loose on the inside of the safe. The install instructions do not address this...

Rated 2 out of 5 by JimKay from Physically too difficult to lock Its the right size, supposed to provide protection from fire and water... just what we were looking for. BIG unresolved problem is the level of difficulty in latching the door. When we called, we were advised to lay it on its back, force it closed and put something heavy on it overnight. We did so. Worked for one day. Last attempt to close it took two of us, wedging against the door and the wall to get it latched. What hood is a safe with fire and water protection if one cannot close the door?

Rated 4 out of 5 by rx2476 from Good deal, thankful for customer service Perfect size safe...170 pounds is nice and heavy and able to be placed in areas where it will take some time to move. Comes with bolts to secure to floor. My safe arrived and the digital combination keypad had a problem where it wouldn't open so the customer service team walked me through steps of cleaning battery terminals trying different sets of batteries then to finally ordering a part to replace. The safe comes with a key so thankfully I can still use it. I wish the safe was working the way it should when I received it. I am now waiting for 2 months for the part to come in. Kind of a pain to use the key b/c I have to remove the keypad each time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jimmy J from Great Household Safe! Actually, I have 2 of this safe. One I bought a few years ago and the other recently. The size and function of the safes fits my needs and space and offers good protection for my environment. FWIW ... I supplement the safe's fire rating with fireproof bags and satchels for the most valuable documents and other small items. My only comment for improvement is to make the instructions for use a bit more clear ... for example the number of pass codes available and the use of codes for other entry.
