Second safe better quality than the first
The first safe had two rips in the front that I was not sure if would affect the fire protection. Took the first one back. The second is in excellent condition. Sentry Safe needs better quality control. With a bit of maneuvering I was able to place everything I needed to place in safe that I need access easily - backup HD, 14 USB drives, 4 DVDs in jewel cases and some documents. I am happy with the safe because it meets my needs. If I need theft protection for the safe, I will need to hide in another locked area as the safe is easy to pick up and steal, and looks like a safe on the shelf - Sentry safe name on the front and top of safe.

Used safe…!?
It seems like I received a used personal safe !
There some type of white powder that is in safe — I wiped most of it up with a disposable cloth— however, now wondering why because that’s not to smart (?) I don’t know what it is…?!?
On inside of where the lock is some of the white powder falls out of opening too when the key was turned???
Additionally, the stickers inside safe were loose not adhered to safe properly … I pressed them into place but figured I should have let that be too…?
The outside box looked returned— I did start to dispose of box but when realized this was returned I stopped!

Great safe for my important papers.
I purchased this safe to house important documents and it so far is the perfect size. It fits just about anywhere in the house and i was able to store everything I had except my mortgage documents, but they are on legal paper so i would have to fold them or leave them out. I may purchase a new safe for those documents. Good quality, easy to register, has nice QR code sheet to contact company if needed, sturdy, easy to use, easy lock, but for me the best thing is I can slide it under my bed, put it in the linen closet next to the towels, etc. its not too big. It contains birth, death, photos, legal, passports, etc. In total, maybe 50-100 sheets of paper.

I'm afraid to use it.
Having read the manual, I don't know anymore if I should use it to store my passport and hard drive. It says there that will be moisture inside that could be damaging. That defeats the purpose. I bought the safe to protect my important items. So yes, it will protect them from fire but ruin them with moisture? So weird. Also, a white chalky substance keeps falling out of the lid. That will ruin my things too. Finally, when it's locked, there's a little give when I pull on the lid. Why??? :(

Compact fire resistant document storage
Adequate for my needs for document storage. A feature I would like to see is the ability to securely latch the chest and preserve fire resistance without needing to lock it. That way a thief could open the chest, see there was nothing to steal and not take it away to open elsewhere.

Fireproof..but is it worth it…
So the box itself is made superbly…it’s tough and fireproof..however it’s not moisture-proof(so they say to store items in a plastic bag).. and there are minimal things that are actually suggested to store in there surprisingly…but quite a few things they suggest to NOT store …at first glance it looks huge not to mention it is extremely heavy… but upon further inspection it’s big enough to store very little…even if you were just storing paperwork it wouldn’t hold that many papers in fact a normal sheet of paper is too wide to fit so would have to be folded up….one of my keys are hard to get into the hole but the other one works fine so not the biggest issue..there isn’t really any way to fasten it to anything so someone could just grab it and go….probably would have returned it but it was a gift….

Not the safe you'd expect
It's a safe in which you cannot store medications, jewelry, firearms, ammo, and paperwork, because the water-gel-based fire retardant will rust and mildew these things. In any case, the interior is just a bit too small for 8 1/2" x 11" pages. You'll have to fold or bend them. Too bad all this wasn't mentioned on the outside of the box, only the inside and on a decal inside the safe.
Combine all that with the loose lid, cheap lock and another instruction that you can't store it on its side, only on its bottom, and it's safe to say this one's a dud.

Used and old!
The safe I received was USED! It had stains of what looks like white paint, or cement stains. It looks like it was left on a construction site. There was white streaks all over and around the box and inside as well. Very disappointed
