Poor Design
I bought 2 of these safes. One for myself and one for my elderly parents. After 'some' difficulty with the one I set up for myself, it is now working for me. Although, the one I programmed for my parents is another matter. It is definitely not user friendly for seniors. The requirement to press down on the unit while depressing the lever, is very difficult for them. I managed to do it, but it seems to have a mind of it's own when it wants to open. I will return my parents' unit. It has caused them much stress that they are not able to operate it. If it would just pop open once the combination is entered, and no levers to squeeze, it would be so much better.

Won't open and customer service is a joke
Bought this for my 75 year old mom and after 4 months won't open anymore. When it did work it was super hard to open. Now when we punch in the code it just beeps red and won't open at all. Called customer service every day for a week with no one picking up. Emailed 3 times with no response. Going to have to get a locksmith to open it hopefully or try and saw our way in, but once that's done thing is going in the trash!

Customer service negative
Well, the safe fits everything I wanted in but I could not enter my own code. The instructions calls it a button, but it's a hole where you put a paper clip and wait for it to turn green. But no matter how many times I've tried with paper clip and other tiny sharp objects it will not turn green; only flashing red. I've asked customer service but they did not answer my question.

Verifiable Protection for Critical Family Items
It is a rugged, robust and well constructed safe that is very easy to use with a positive locking feature. The sealing gasket is substantial and well fitted. Until a fire or flood event occurs all I can do as a consumer is ensure the manufacturer states they have fully met identifiable and sensible standards (flood, fire endurance, explosion hazard and data protection) and have performed the necessary testing and lastly they are reputable. Sentry safe have done this to my satisfaction and so I purchased this product with confidence in entrusting the future safety of my items; I have no regrets.

Fire!
I appreciate that the safe kept all our stuff safe in a fire, but it fell apart after. The after fire replacement guarantee is extremely difficult to navigate. I would rate much higher if it wasn't so hard to get the replacement.

Not as easy to open as expected
The safe was not what I had expected. I thought there would be a back up way to open the safe, like a hidden keyhole. The first time opening the safe the latch kept getting jammed. We finally figured out that we had to push down on the lid before pushing the latch to open it. For the price it should have been easier to handle. It will not open easily without pushing down on the lid first.

Absolutely fine value for price
I had the benefit of reading some of the reviews before I opened the box. This is a brand new, unboxed, review.
Use a credit card to open the battery compartment; I tried a business card, that didn't work. Also accidently found out I could push on the left side of the cover with my thumb while inserting the credit card and the cover popped off much easier than just inserting the card alone (which didn't work after the battery was installed).
I used a paperclip to press the button to change the lock combo button and it worked as expected.
They could have done a much better job with the instruction manual that came with the unit.
I wish it was attachable to a wall or floor but it's not. I bought it to protect encrypted data drives in case of a fire. It is easy to carry away so it will not stop a burglar from stealing it.
