In independent Underwriters Laboratory tests, Sentry®Safe Fire-Safe® products are subjected to fire for 1/2, 1 or 2 hours.

For a product to earn a UL classification, the documents stored inside must remain completely undamaged.

UL 1/2-Hour Fire Endurance Test |BACK | TOP |

Sentry®Safe Fire-Safe® products are subjected to temperatures of 1550° F (843° C) for 1/2 hour.

The interior remains below 350° F (177° C) to protect documents.

UL 1/2-Hour Class 125 Test |BACK | TOP |

Sentry®Safe Fire-Safe® products are subjected to temperatures of 1550° F (843° C) for 1/2 hour.

The Sentry®Safe Fire-Safe® Data Storage Chests and Files are subjected to temperatures of 1550° F (843° C) for 1/2 hour.

For the product to qualify for a Class 125 rating, the interior must remain below 125° C (52° C) and below 80% humidity.

Product is subjected to temperatures of 1700° F (927° C) for 1 hour.

The interior remains below 350° F (177° C) to protect documents.

UL 2-Hour Fire Endurance Test |BACK | TOP |

Product is subjected to temperatures of 1850° F (1010° C) for 2 hours.

Product is subjected to a flash fire of 2000° F (1093° C) for 20 minutes and does not explode or rupture.

UL Explosion Hazard Test |BACK | TOP |

All UL Classified Sentry®Safe Fire-Safe® products pass a UL Explosion Hazard Test.

Product is subjected to a flash fire of 2000° F (1093° C) for 20 minutes and does not explode or rupture.

UL Fire-Impact Test |BACK | TOP |

Many traditional safe models which are Sentry®Safe Fire-Safe® branded products also pass a UL Classified Fire-Impact Test.

After being heated to 1550° F (843° C), the product is dropped 30 feet onto rubble. It is then cooled, inverted and reheated to 1550° F (843° C) for 1/2 hour.

To pass, the safe must remain intact and locked, with an interior temperature below 350° F (177° C).

Sentry®Safe Fire-Safe® products with an ETL rating have been tested by the independent testing firm ETL Semko.

They are verified to be in compliance with the manufacturer's specifications for fire endurance.

Depending on the model, SentrySafe products may carry the following ETL ratings

ETL Verified 1-hour fire protection for  CDs, DVDs, USB Drives and Memory Sticks up to 1700° F

ETL verified for 2-hour fire protection of CDs, DVDs, USB Drives and Memory Sticks up to 1850° F

ETL verified to manufacturer's fire protection specifications. Up t 1200 degrees F for 30 minutes, interior temperature remain below 350 degrees.

ETL verified to manufacturer's fire protection specifications. Up t 1400 degrees F for 30 minutes, interior temperature remain below 350 degrees.
