Rated 1 out of 5 by Starynatu from Gas strut failure Great safe to keep by the bedside unless you want to open it and be able retrieve your gun fast. Only had the gun safe for a few months and the gas strut has already failed to open. By the time I keep replacing this strut each few months I could have purchased a different safe that doesn't have this problem. 3 month warranty on a product that is supposed to be built to last!!!!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by Odinjeepjt from Almost Great, But Tragoc Flaws I’ve had this for several years. For most of those years, like many owners, the strut has failed. If I have to open the safe in a hurry I will be dead before I can get it open to get my gun out. You have to either turn the box over and dump it out or find something to fit in and pry the cover up because you can’t even get a fingernail in there. It seems like the strut issue is quite common, I looked around the site and couldn’t even find a replacement to buy. Also, the push buttons are very soft feeling there’s not a whole lot of certainty when you hit them that you pressed them fully or only once. So sometimes you have to try a couple times to keep an open it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Rick0909 from Poor Gas Assist Opening Mechanism The safe is great except over time the gas assist cylinder that springs the door open fails. When the code is entered, the door only opens a crack and you have to try to get your finger in there to get it open. In an emergency, this is unreliable and unacceptable.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Disappointed customer from Gas Strut Failure My gas strut failed after about 6 months and i never bothered to replace. It seems this is a common problem. I wish the company would replace.

Rated 1 out of 5 by JoelOro0200 from Gas stoke issue I like the construction of the safe but unfortunately the gas stroke is failing and I have to use my finger neil to open it. The bigest problem now is that my warranty alreay expired so now i have to buy a new safe or a new stroke that will last just for several months. The save work ok for about a year before the stroke issue.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Cris32107 from Look elsewhere I've had the safe for a few months and the shock already failed not too reassuring for when it counts. Better to find out now than later. Keep looking.

Rated 2 out of 5 by JimXeod from Good safe - poor operation This is my 3rd pistol safe. Strangely this gas strut opener failed within 4 months. I’ve replaced one on one after 18 months, and thought that was acceptable. My original has its factory strut. No issues. I don’t know who supplies the strut, but obviously something changed. I am actually very disappointed, as I was considering another. I will call customer service at some point to order another strut as right now this safe is useless. I have a magnet to open the door, but obviously this is no longer “quick access”.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Dennis B from Expected More I have had this gun box 8 years. I am on my third battery. The other people that have to replace their batteries often probably open their box frequently. I don't have a need for that. Like the others my hydraulic arm failed after a couple dozen openings. That extra second that it takes to lift the lid by hand is very annoying, of course and had I known in advance it would have been a deal breaker. At first I looked for a replacement arm, but eventually decided if they are going to fail that fast why bother? I have replaced them on expensive auto hoods and trunks so it is apparently a universal problem. I still like these better than biometric which can be defeated more easily.
